Mayor's Showcase Neighborhood

showcase

Due to flooding in the area and water conservation in the community, the Mayor and City Council have decided to postpone the MSN program until spring 2012. This will also give neighborhoods more time to plan their improvements. We will provide a revised timeline in February 2012.

The Mayor's Showcase Neighborhood provides an opportunity for any residential neighborhood in the City of Plattsmouth to be recognized for improving the neighborhood. Improvements may include property cleanups, planning/landscaping, painting, and any other maintenance or improvements that beautify and/or improve the quality of the neighborhood. Credit will be given for assisting seniors within the neighborhood and for providing evidence of sustaining the improvements beyond the recognition period.

Be sure to document the improvements with pictures of your neighborhood BEFORE and AFTER the project! Submit the pictures with your final record of improvements.

Timeline:

  • Mid-June 2011 - All residents and property owners in Plattsmouth should have received a brochure.
  • Date not set - Deadline for an intent to participate form to be delivered to the City Clerk.
  • Date not set - Deadline to submit a record of the neighborhood improvement project for judging.
  • Date not set - Recognition and reward during the City Council meeting.
